Chapter: English Literature in the Sixteenth Century

Orlando’s method of distributing poetry wasn’t unlike that of those indie bands that shove free CDs into your hands on the street: he wrote dozens of poems on dozens of small pieces of paper, then stuck those dozens of pieces of paper onto the branches of dozens of trees. I guess it’s a good thing Rosalind found them all before it rained. Of course, at this point, Orlando is still anonymous, since the poetry went unsigned. Celia knows his identity, but rather than just tell Rosalind - her best friend - Celia jerks her around for a while with a silly guessing game. I mean, I guess it gets boring in the forest. Celia has to find entertainment where she can.
