Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages

Hey, it's my birthday! Woo! I decided to celebrate by playing with colorful special effects.

Now, is it just me, or does taking a road trip in medieval England sound like a really bad idea? Gawain is traveling around a hundred miles or so tops, yet he finds countless dangers he has to fight and escape. How did anyone get around in this time period? Was everyone required to wear chain mail and carry swords before they could saddle up? Honestly, you can't walk a few feet out of Camelot without facing wolves or bears or "wild men of the woods." No wonder the knights just spent most of their time at home getting drunk - traveling anywhere in that country was a pain in the ass.
