The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia
Publication Date: January 17, 2011
Chapter: English Literature in the Sixteenth Century
You know, I can't tell you a whole lot about "Arcadia." Only a few Norton pages are devoted to the otherwise long work, so my opinion is rather ill-informed. Apparently, there's a dude that's in love with a lady, but that lady's mom is in love with him. To sneak into their estate, the dude disguises himself as a chick, and while the mom sees through the disguise, her husband falls in love with the dude immediately.
Anyway, people read it a lot now because it's extremely trans, and we'll take what we can get.
