The Book of Margery Kempe (6 of 6)
Publication Date: September 2, 2010
Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages
Margery ends up getting put on trial for something I'm still not entirely sure about. Judging her is the archbishop, several clerks, and a doctor. They seem pretty keen to just kill her and be done with, but Margery whines a lot and then busts out the tears. Since the sight of a woman crying usually cripples most men, Margery is instantly set free. Ah, the justice system at work!
