Canterbury Tales: Wife of Bath's Tale (5 of 5)
Publication Date: July 27, 2010
Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages
Ah, I love a good callback.
Anyway, so yeah, the Wife of Bath's tale is pretty much bullshit. I know it seems like I keep harping on this, but I can't get over the fact that this dude gets off scot free. Granted, that's sadly realistic, but still. Not only does he get let off the hook, but he gets a happy ending, living in bliss until the end of his days with a beautiful (yet clearly crazy) woman. It just makes me wanna punch something.
But I really need to move on. Hopefully the Pardoner will have something a bit more enlightening for us, but I doubt it.
