Lanval (8 of 8)
Publication Date: May 12, 2010
Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages
And so ends the story of Lanval. I could've drawn an adaption of the entire story and been happy, but it's probably best that I don't dwell on any one work for too long - I've still got a lot of Anthology to go.
In the original tale, the ending is a bit more dramatic than I drew in the comic. After Lanval's mistress tells Arthur and Gwen where they can stick it, she rides off into the sunset on her horse. Lanval chases after her and leaps onto the horse behind her like he's a stuntman in a western. Then, as noted in the comic, they ride off to Avalon, where I'm sure things are going to get really awkward when that zombie Arthur in the boat shows up.
