The History of Little Goody Two-Shoes (1)

Publication Date: January 25, 2017

Chapter: Children's Literature

Classic children's literature is often the secret origin of words or phrases that are part of our lexicon today. In this case, we learn where the phrase "goody two-shoes" was popularized! But not quite yet. Today, we just see the father of the titual Goody Two-Shoes, who finds himself in the cold open of an episode of Leverage. The whole family gets booted from their farm, and the parents promptly die. If I've learned anything from skimming the Norton Anthology of Children's literature, it's that everyone dies. Everyone. Ever.

About The Comic

Lit Brick is a comic started by Jodie Troutman in an effort to read the entire Norton Anthology of English Literature. Having eventually succeeded in that goal, it now features comics about all manner of random literature. And yeah, they're all pretty dumb.
