The Book of Margery Kempe (5 of 6)

Publication Date: September 1, 2010

Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages

Shortly after her visit with Julian, Margery sets off on a road trip to Jerusalem, where she and the other pilgrims go on a guided tour of some tourist destinations. It occured to me while reading this that an expedition to Jerusalem these days would be considerably different. If nothing else, the armed guards at every street corner probably weren't around in 1438.

Anyway, this strip wasn't really up to my usual standards. I had a hard time getting any work done today (which is to say, yesterday), so this is a bit of a half-hearted attempt. Still, I like the mental image of Deirdre dressed for spring break at the Wailing Wall, shouting obscenities at rabbis and military personnel.
