So yeah, the titular Puss in Boots is effectively a conman. He uses animal murder to win favor with the King (who is alarmingly into that kinda thing?), then convinces the King that Little Timmy is actually the Marquis of Somethingsomething. This is all part of a plot to make Timmy rich and get him a sexy Princess Wife, which - to be honest - is way more helpful than cats usually are.
