Sappho of Lesbos (3)
Publication Date: December 7, 2014
Chapter: Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Literature
I’m fairly certain that “Like the very gods in my sight is he” is about a woman that finds a man so unbearably sexy that she dies, unable to stop fixating on this paragon of manliess. Pro-tip: if you ever stare at someone for so long that you begin to feel the cold embrace of death, you should probably take a breather.
Notice: To all the women in the past that I’ve stared at so hard that I almost died, I apologize. That was rather rude of me.
