Chapter: The Wonderful Comics of Oz

I'm using that new Oz movie as an excuse to begin A SALUTE TO OZ, starting with the first book (also known as the only book people know exists). I'm hardly the first person to point out the narrative flaws in this otherwise classic book. The story is basically over after the Wicked Witch is defeated, yet the book... just... keeps... going. It's storytelling death. The MGM musical clearly recognized the problem and deftly just dropped Glinda into the Emerald City after the Wizard splits town.

Coming up next time in Lit Brick's SALUTE TO OZ is a strip that will undoubtedly delight fans of "El Goonish Shive."
