Gulliver's Travels (11 of 20)

Publication Date: November 21, 2011

Chapter: English Literature During The Restoration And The Eighteenth Century

The island of Laputa sails through the clouds, repelled from the Earth by a giant magnet, which is pretty rad. When Gulliver arrives, he's taken to see the King. They sit in silence for over an hour as the King apparently doesn't even notice that Gulliver has arrived. He is, instead, occupied by the many mathematical gadgets strewn across his royal table.

Rewriting this scene for the 21st Century wasn't terribly difficult.
