John Donne: The Flea (1633)

After I drew this comic, it occured to me that I probably misread the original poem. While I saw the first stanza initially as being about a guy talking to another guy about how his ex-girlfriend was now the other guy's current girlfriend, apparently this is not the case. It's actually some crap about how some dude's girlfriend won't put out. I think my ill-informed interpretation (wherein the woman is the flea in question, sucking every dude in town) is more entertaining, if not slightly more immature. Then again, Lit Brick has never been a haven for high-minded commentary. Why start now?

Anyway, there's a new Flat Feet page over at the Troutcave. Not the most thrilling material, but it's setting us up for things to come.
