The Book of Margery Kempe (1 of 6)

Publication Date: August 27, 2010

Chapter: English Literature During The Middle Ages

I'm trying something different with this and the next few comics. Instead of literally drawing Margery Kempe and her crazy ass life, I'm mocking elements of her story in "the real world" with Molly's friend, the lovely Deirdre.

Anyway, it's just an experiment, designed to stretch Lit Brick's legs a bit. We'll see how it goes.

As for today's comic itself, it's really not that ridiculous. In Kempe's book, she receives a vision from Jesus after giving birth to her first child. This vision prompts her to - seriously - open up her own brewery. You know, I rag on people that get "visions" a lot, but honestly - if more of them just woke up one day and thought, "Hell, I'm gonna make some beer - for God!" I'd respect them a bit more. But just a little bit.
