First, a comment yesterday from Ascension pretty much won the internet: "Because I would not flirt with Death, he kindly killed my boyfriend and flirted with me." Considering I took an entire class on Emily Dickinson in college, I really should've thought of that myself.
Second, Chaucer actually used the phrase "Death shall be dead," in the story. Cracks me up every time.
