Disclaimer: I actually love Portland. Even in a post-apocalyptic world devoid of power, it’d still be a pretty nice town.
Now then, a note: there will be NO Lit Brick updates next week. On the upside, for every week AFTER that, the comic will update four days a week – Tuesday through Friday. YAY! Join me, won’t you, as I begin an epic series based upon the Epic of Gilgamesh. Captain Picard would be so proud.

I can’t read think of Portland without also thinking of 1/0
Now -that- was funny!
Why, thank you, sir! I am to please.
Look forward to seeing you at PureSpec, sir.
If the Rennies took over Portland, I see they kicked the Authnticity Nazis out. ^__^ (Which is good, because trying to draw one of those dresses does not sound like a fun task for a professional artist (much less myself).)
That was an awesome book. Witches and bandits and cannibals, oh my!
Gilgamesh should be interesting, when viewed through the lense of one Mr. Troutman…
GILGAMESH
YES
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
…
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Hmm. S.M. Stirling is the Guest of Honor for a con I’m going to in November. Looking forward to reading some of his stuff.
I LOVE it! When first reading the book, I got a chuckle out of the idea of Renaissance Faire types totally taking over Portland and turning it into a feudal kingdom, and you captured that chuckle perfectly.
I must protest slightly- no self respecting rennie would willfully participate in feudalism. We are far too much with the geek and history buff (and many would totally talk your ear off as to the reasons why x, y, and z proffer better alternatives in a post apocalyptic world.)
What if they were doing it ironically?
