Prophets really are kind of jerks. They spoil history for everyone else. You could also argue that they cause the very things they prophesize to occur. Would Oedipus have boned his mom if he hadn't already been told it would happen? Would Brutus have killed his dad? Would Deirdre have helped bring about the downfall of Celtic civilization? Honestly, the world would be a whole lot better without a bunch of douchebags spouting off about the future.

Unless the prophets are talking about automobiles and running for recreation - for fun. Then they're awesome.
