I can’t even pretend that this is based on the book, considering the reference to musical lyrics. That said, I did draw my Heffalumps as regular elephants, instead of the stylized elephant-like creatures of the cartoon.

I believe so! They looked eve bigger in my original pencils. I think I shrank them a little when inking. And black is slimming.

<- didn't figure out that Heffalumps were elephants until she was 26, despite knowing all about Eeyore and Wol and Tigger being mangled kidwords. It may have had something to do with the poem wherein CR fed buns to the elephants when he went down to the zoo.
I'm also quite sure that the Heffalumps ate my writing talent and the Woozles stole my logic.
Well, I suppose shoes are more edible than the pencil lead.
