I love that Satan is surrounded by morons. For some reason, it makes sense to me that no one particularly clever would join him in his initial rebellion.
Paradise Lost is an epic work, and is reprinted within the Norton in full. While I’m obviously not going to draw 220 pages worth of comics, expect highlights from all twelve books before we’re through.
Now, you may have observed that the site looks, y’know, remarkably different today. I’ve spent several weeks rebuilding Lit Brick with Comicpress, a pimped-out WordPress for webcomics. The changes and cool new features are a bit too vast in scope for this daily commentary, so I’ve blogged about the new site in two parts: read this post for the lowdown on the new site in general, and then this post for details on the new commenting system. Suffice it to say, the site has been upgraded a lot, and you’ll find several new bells and whistles to play with.
Sadly though, before anyone else mentions it, we have indeed lost the old comments. I have them archived onto my hard drive, but they can’t be imported into WordPress just yet. There is always hope, however, that the old comments will return in the future.

How does one go about obtaining one of the fabulous LitBrick gravatars?
The 64×64 LB avatars are randomly generated for commentators that don’t have their own Gravatar like yourself. That said, as noted in the next strip’s commentary, you can steal ‘em for yourself if you want: http://litbrick.com/avatars/
I’m getting more an more the phrase “Sympathy for the Devil”
Oh, I don’t know; a water slide into a lake of fire sounds like an interesting new torture device for souls. “Ha, ha!@ You only *think* I’m letting you cool off!” The roof of gold, not so much. ^^;
The new site looks awesome! The graphics for the comics browsing controls are a nice touch. I am wondering why it looks like you can see the background through She-Jesus et. al. up at the top, though. O_o
You can see through her a bit by design. They’re supposed to look weathered, like they were painted onto the wood.
Love the new site. Excited about Gravatars! I’ve never read Milton, so I’m eager to see your take on it.
Thanks! And I think we can all agree that, today, you won the avatar lottery.
So. I. Did.
He looks suave. Also I think his eyes changed colors. Still, can’t wait to see more of him.
That water slide would TOTALLY work in Hell. They just need to build it beneath the access point for damned souls, so they can save time.
…
What? I figured devils and demons would approve of labour-saving measures. It reinforces Sloth.
Hahaha, poor Satan! I hear ya, dude. And boy does he look COOL!
Oddly enough, out of all the books I had to read in high school lit, this is one of the few I actually found interesting.
Eh, that’s not so odd. It’s actually pretty cool. It’s like the Bible if the Bible was even remotely entertaining.
hm… maybe that’s why so many people seem to think that many details which originate in Milton’s works, actually came from the Bible… ?
