Hey there, sports fans. I’ve some unwelcome news: Lit Brick is going to be entering a hiatus in the next few weeks. There are several reasons for this, some artistic, but the largest factor is that – as a businessman of sorts – I can no longer devote most of my time to a comic that isn’t growing in readership. To perfectly honest, the comic’s numbers haven’t changed in over a year, despite advertising campaigns and big links from other websites. As a cartoonist trying his best to be a professional, I’m forced to acknowledge that Lit Brick has become a waste of my valuable time, even though I still enjoy creating it.
Starting on January 30th, I’ll therefore be refocusing my energy on a new project, which I currently believe to be the best (and funniest) thing I’ve ever written, and which I suspect will have the potential to reach a far broader audience than the very niche-based LB. I know this will disappoint many of you, but if it’s any consolation, I’ll still be drawing comics every week. They just won’t be about obscure pieces of literature. As further consolation, you may be pleased to know that Molly is a character in the new project, so a least a little bit of Lit Brick will continue to live on elsewhere.
I’ll have more information for you as the month goes on. Though plans can always change, I’ve targeted the new project to be updating Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, beginning on the 30th, without fail. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, when time allows, Delusionary State will continue, at delusionarystate.com. There will be additional bonus material on weekends, again as time allows, though that’s not anything I can comment on at the moment.
So, while Lit Brick will be taking a break for the foreseeable future, I’ll be drawing more comics than ever before in 2012. I hope you’ll tune in for them. I truly thank you guys for your support, as it’s always meant the world to me.
